PFISTERER Invests $2.7 Million in Rochester Facility to Boost SICON Connector Production for U.S. Data Centers

PFISTERER is expanding its U.S. production capacity with a $2.7 million investment in three additional CNC lathes, tooling, and related equipment at its Rochester, New York facility. The expansion will increase production capacity for SICON shearbolt connector components by two and a half times, according to a company announcement.

The move comes as more than half of PFISTERER's SICON connectors are now sold in the United States. By manufacturing directly in Rochester, the company aims to meet this demand locally, strengthening its delivery capacity, flexibility, and resilience in a key growth market. The investment aligns with PFISTERER's "Local-for-Local" approach, which prioritizes local production for local markets, reducing delivery times and transportation-related emissions.

SICON connectors are critical for secure electrical and mechanical connections in power infrastructure, particularly for data centers. They are the only connectors that meet the Class 2 requirements of the North American standard ANSI C119.4, and are also type-tested in accordance with IEC 61238-1, Class A. As data center expansion accelerates across the U.S. and globally, demand for these high-performance connectors is rising. SICON supports reliable and scalable power supply for critical digital infrastructure.

"With the expansion of our production in Rochester, we are taking an important step in our growth strategy for the U.S. market," said Johannes Linden, member and spokesperson of the Executive Board of PFISTERER Holding SE. "We manufacture where our products are needed, thereby strengthening our local presence and enabling us to supply our customers more quickly and flexibly. The investment not only significantly increases our production capacity but also creates additional qualified jobs at the site."

The investment positions Rochester as a central hub in PFISTERER's global production network, which spans 19 locations in 15 countries. By localizing production, PFISTERER enhances its responsiveness to U.S. customers and reinforces its role in supporting the nation's energy infrastructure. The company, headquartered in Winterbach, Germany, has been developing power connection solutions since 1921.
