EPH Group AG to Develop Five-Star Luxury Resort in Burgenland, Austria

EPH Group AG, headquartered in Vienna, is expanding its presence in Austria's tourism sector with plans for a new five-star resort in Burgenland. The project, announced via NEWMEDIAWIRE, aims to combine contemporary luxury with the region's renowned wine culture and cuisine. Through its wholly owned subsidiary EPH BGL GmbH, the company has signed purchase agreements for approximately 2.6 hectares of land. The resort is designed to attract upscale leisure and luxury travelers, offering around 300 beds and a range of high-end amenities.

The concept includes a spacious wellness area, private lodges with individual pools and private wellness spaces set amid vineyards, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views, a traditional wine tavern known as a "Heuriger" directly in the vineyards, and a dedicated wine and culinary experience. Its proximity to a renowned thermal spa and a golf course further enhances the leisure offerings. The architectural and tourism experience will be defined by sweeping views of Burgenland's rolling hills extending to Hungary.

EPH Group intends to partner with an internationally renowned hotel operator for the resort's future operation, consistent with its other projects. The development aims to strengthen Burgenland as a destination for discerning international guests and to support year-round tourism. By integrating wine, cuisine, wellness, and golf, the resort seeks to operate largely independently of seasonal fluctuations, providing a stable economic base.

The project is expected to generate significant economic momentum for the region. In addition to direct jobs at the resort, regional hospitality and wine-growing businesses, producers, craft companies, service providers, and other tourism operators are poised to benefit from the value created. This aligns with EPH Group's broader strategy of developing high-quality hotel locations with international positioning and long-term value appreciation potential.

"Burgenland combines a unique landscape with a rich tradition of wine and culinary culture, creating ideal conditions for discerning year-round tourism," said Yasmin Wilfling, Member of the Management Board of EPH Group AG. "With our resort, we want to bring these distinctive qualities together in an internationally positioned luxury hotel concept. It is important to us to make the identity of the region visible and tangible while at the same time generating sustainable momentum for regional value creation."

The signing of the purchase agreements marks a crucial step, though the acquisition is subject to conditions precedent, including a final and binding building permit. The project will proceed step by step in line with local framework conditions. For more information about EPH Group AG and its projects, visit https://eph-group.com/en.

This development matters because it represents a significant investment in Austria's luxury hospitality sector, with the potential to elevate Burgenland's profile as a year-round destination. The ripple effects on local businesses and employment could serve as a model for sustainable tourism development, demonstrating how luxury projects can drive regional economic growth while preserving cultural and natural heritage.
