Nexconn, a global cloud communications platform, announced the launch of its production-ready Free Chat Plan, allowing developers and startups to deploy enterprise-grade chat infrastructure for up to 10,000 monthly active users (MAU) at no cost, with full Chat Pro features enabled and no credit card required. The announcement was distributed via Media OutReach Newswire.
The initiative addresses a persistent pain point in the developer tooling market: typical free tiers across the category cap at 100 to 1,000 MAU and restrict apps to sandbox environments, thresholds that are far too low for teams to validate user retention or viral growth. For Texas startups and small development shops, that gap has often meant paying for production-grade messaging before a business model is proven, or launching with infrastructure that cannot handle real-world usage.
"A free tier should empower teams to validate their business model, not just verify that an SDK compiles," said Will Song, Head of Global Business at Nexconn. The plan includes unlimited messages across direct, group, community, and open channels, along with read receipts, typing indicators, user mentions, unread badges, and cross-platform multi-device synchronization. It also bundles native multi-channel mobile push with no add-on fees, support for up to 500 peak concurrent connections, 10 GB of cloud storage, and 180 days of searchable message history.
Nexconn is further extending startup runway through an optional Cloud Bonus. Teams that link a payment method can choose between 15% off AWS or 30% off Alibaba Cloud to offset backend cloud costs. The offer is open to teams that send their first in-app message by December 31, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Singapore Time, locking in up to 10,000 MAU of Pro chat valued at $860 per month.
The plan also includes no-charge migration support for teams transitioning from Sendbird, Stream, CometChat, PubNub, Agora, or Twilio, and an open-source AI Integration Skill that lets developers generate client SDK code and backend token endpoints via simple text prompts. Those capabilities matter for Texas companies building real-time digital experiences, from social platforms to customer engagement tools, where switching costs and engineering time can determine whether a product reaches market.
Developers can create an account in the Nexconn Console, integrate the SDK manually or with the AI Skill, and activate the free plan by sending at least one message before the deadline. Additional information about the platform is available at https://www.nexconn.ai.
The broader implication is a shift in what founders can expect from infrastructure providers. By removing the cost of production-grade chat for early-stage growth, Nexconn lowers a barrier that has historically forced Texas startups to choose between scaling and conserving capital. If other providers respond with comparable tiers, the benefit could extend across the state's developer ecosystem, giving more teams room to test retention and viral growth before committing to paid infrastructure.
