The U.S. workers' compensation insurance market, generating approximately $50–60 billion in annual written premium according to NCCI, is undergoing a significant transformation driven by artificial intelligence and connected technology ecosystems. A new white paper, "Orchestrating Workers' Compensation in the AI Era," released by Sollers Consulting in partnership with Guidewire and CLARA Analytics, examines how AI-driven claims intelligence and orchestration frameworks are reshaping operations in this sector.
The paper argues that AI's value is maximized when embedded directly into coordinated operational workflows rather than deployed as isolated tools. Insurers are increasingly using AI-driven analytics, predictive triage, workflow automation, and orchestration to identify escalation risks earlier, enhance reserving accuracy, streamline documentation-intensive processes, and support proactive intervention strategies.
