Wrap Technologies Launches WrapShield Autonomous Defense Platform, Invests in Frenel Imaging

Wrap Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP) has announced the launch of WrapShield, an autonomous defense and public safety platform designed to unify threat detection, artificial intelligence-assisted decision support, and response technologies into a single operating architecture. The platform aims to help government agencies integrate existing and future sensors, AI capabilities, and response technologies across defense, public safety, homeland security, critical infrastructure, and border security applications, with an initial focus on counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS).

In conjunction with the platform launch, Wrap Technologies also revealed a strategic investment in Israel-based Frenel Imaging Ltd., along with an exclusive U.S. and NATO license for Frenel’s proprietary TPiCore® thermal-polarimetric imaging technology. This technology will serve as the initial sensing layer for WrapShield. The company expects Frenel to be the first of multiple planned investments supporting the platform, which is designed to expand across a range of autonomous security and surveillance markets.

Wrap Technologies is known for its portfolio of public safety technologies, including the non-lethal BolaWrap® 150 device, Wrap Reality® immersive training platform, WrapVision™ body-worn camera system, WrapTactics™ training programs, and next-generation C-UAS solutions like PAN-DA and the 1KC Kinetic Anti-Drone Cassette. The company’s mission is to provide safer, scalable, and cost-effective technologies for public safety, defense, and critical infrastructure markets.

The BolaWrap® 150 device, used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, incorporates multi-sensory distraction to create time, distance, and tactical advantage in non-criminal calls. It deploys a cognitive disruption to expand the pre-escalation period, allowing officers to manage non-compliant subjects before resorting to higher-force options. The device is not pain-based compliance and is backed by training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).

WrapReality™ VR is a fully immersive training simulator designed to enhance decision-making under stress, providing first responders with realistic, interactive scenarios that reflect modern law enforcement challenges. WrapVision, the company’s body-worn camera and evidence management system, boasts streamlined cloud integration and a planned made-in-America roadmap for early 2026, ensuring data integrity and addressing foreign surveillance risks.

The launch of WrapShield and the investment in Frenel Imaging represent a significant expansion of Wrap Technologies’ capabilities into autonomous security and surveillance. For the defense and public safety industries, these developments signal a move toward integrated, AI-driven systems that can provide real-time threat assessment and response. As government agencies face evolving challenges, particularly in countering drone threats, WrapShield could offer a comprehensive solution. The platform’s ability to connect multiple sensors and response technologies may enhance operational efficiency and safety for personnel.
