Wearable Devices and Encord Team Up to Advance Physical AI Training Data

Wearable Devices Ltd. (NASDAQ: WLDS) has entered into a strategic collaboration agreement with Cord Technologies Inc. (“Encord”) to integrate its wrist-based neural sensing technology with Encord’s Physical AI data infrastructure and visual data capabilities. The collaboration, led by Wearable Devices’ Physical AI business unit Kavana, seeks to develop multimodal training datasets that merge neuromuscular signals from hand and finger movements with visual information, according to the full press release.

At the heart of the effort are Wearable Devices’ Mudra Pro and Mudra Ultimate devices, which capture surface electromyography (sEMG) signals. These signals can complement camera-based data when hands, fingers, or objects are partially obscured—a common challenge in robotics and augmented reality applications. The agreement sets a commercial framework for Encord to purchase Wearable Devices’ wrist-worn devices and use the collected data to develop datasets for third-party Physical AI and robotics developers, subject to licensing and commercialization terms. Wearable Devices would generate revenue from device sales and usage-based compensation for qualifying data collection activities.

The companies are already collaborating on data collection, testing, and integration, with plans to explore applications in humanoid robotics and advanced robotic manipulation. Future commercial activity will depend on customer demand and the implementation of the collaboration. For Texas, the news signals growing momentum in the state’s technology and robotics ecosystem. As a hub for innovation, Texas is home to a rising number of AI and robotics firms that could benefit from improved training data solutions. The collaboration positions Wearable Devices to tap into the expanding Physical AI market, which seeks to bridge the gap between digital intelligence and real-world physical interaction.

Wearable Devices, a growth company pioneering human-computer interaction through AI-powered neural input touchless technology, offers consumer products like the Mudra Band and Mudra Link that enable touch-free control of digital devices using gestures. The company operates through a dual-channel model of direct-to-consumer sales and enterprise licensing, serving sectors such as gaming, productivity, and XR. Its newly launched ai6 Labs ecosystem aims to accelerate research and AI breakthroughs. The company’s ordinary shares and warrants trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the symbols “WLDS” and “WLDSW,” respectively.
