Tempest Droneworx Opens Pre-Orders for Corvus MRDR™ Platform to Accelerate Autonomous Systems Development

Tempest Droneworx™, a Houston-based Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has announced that its Corvus MRDR™ (Modular Robotics Development & Reporting) platform is now available for pre-order. This platform, originally developed for internal use, is being made public to help autonomous systems developers overcome the significant time and expense associated with testing. The company's technology has evolved through years of real-world engineering, including work on the FAA BAA 4One-to-Many Command and Control project.

The Corvus MRDR™ platform allows developers to start with simulated aircraft operating in real-world coordinates and then progressively replace simulated vehicles with physical ones, without altering their existing workflow or sacrificing intellectual property. This hybrid approach enables teams to test algorithms and control methods at scale, fail without risking expensive hardware, and only go to the field when ready. The platform integrates with existing tools and control architectures, and supports PX4 and ArduPilot through distributed Core Robotics Object Simulators (CROS), with additional firmware types in beta.

Key components of the platform include the Robotics Aggregation & Visualization Node (RAVN), which combines simulated and physical vehicle telemetry with ADS-B, Remote ID, RADAR, and other data sources in a real-time 3D environment. Missions can be recorded and replayed for analysis. The product line includes the MRDR-1, stackable MRDR-2 Expansion systems, and the eight-display MRDR-187 Enterprise, with NDAA-compliant configurations available. The first MRDR-187 Enterprise has already been delivered to the University of Houston Robotics Department.

According to Ty Audronis, Chief Technology Officer of Tempest Droneworx™, "We're not commercializing our control algorithms.
