Nutritional Products International (NPI), a Boca Raton-based global brand management and distribution company, has appointed former Walmart executive Hemant Agrahari as President. Agrahari most recently served as Director of Sourcing at Walmart's Bentonville, Arkansas headquarters, where he worked within the retailer's Health & Wellness sourcing organization.
In his new role, Agrahari will lead NPI's retail strategy and brand onboarding, working with the domestic and international health and wellness brands NPI represents to prepare them for retail opportunities and help secure placement with leading U.S. retailers. NPI Founder and CEO Mitch Gould will continue to oversee the company's long-term strategic direction and retail industry relationships, working alongside Agrahari to expand NPI's reach and capabilities.
"I've known Hemant for some time now, and I'm very excited for him to join Nutritional Products International and take our company to the next level," said Gould. "He spent years on the buy side at Walmart headquarters, and he knows exactly what a buyer needs to see. That perspective is going to be a tremendous advantage for every brand we represent."
Agrahari brings more than 15 years of experience across the pharmaceutical, health and wellness, and mass-retail sourcing industries. At Walmart Sourcing, he rose from Senior Manager of Health & Wellness Sourcing to Director of Sourcing, evaluating suppliers, negotiating programs, and helping shape how nutritional products reach Walmart shelves and customers. Before Walmart, he spent five years in Accenture's management consulting practice advising clients on sourcing, procurement, and supply chain strategy. He began his career in supply chain and strategic sourcing roles at leading pharmaceutical companies, including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Hikal Ltd, and Novartis Healthcare. A chemical engineer by training, he holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi.
"I've seen thousands of brands come across a buyer's desk, and the ones that succeed are the ones that arrive prepared," said Agrahari. "NPI has spent decades getting brands ready for retail and getting them on the shelf. I'm excited to join Mitch and the team and help our clients grow at Walmart and across every major retail channel."
NPI's Evolution of Distribution® model gives brands a single outsourced team for sales, retail distribution, logistics, regulatory support, Amazon, and marketing, built on long-standing experience working with major U.S. retailers, including Walmart, Costco, GNC, CVS, Walgreens, Amazon, and Vitamin Shoppe. Agrahari's appointment strengthens NPI's leadership team by bringing direct experience from the retail sourcing side of the business, complementing the company's established expertise in helping consumer brands navigate the complexities of entering and expanding in the U.S. marketplace.
For Texas businesses in the health, wellness, and consumer products sectors, the appointment signals a strategic emphasis on retail readiness and buyer-side insight. Companies seeking shelf space with major retailers often face high barriers, and NPI's enhanced leadership may provide a more informed pathway for brands looking to scale. As Nutritional Products International integrates Agrahari's sourcing experience, Texas brands could benefit from a leadership team that understands both the supplier and retailer perspectives, potentially improving their chances of securing placement in a competitive marketplace.
