Melrose Aesthetics, a Nashville-based medical aesthetics practice, has begun offering XERF, a radiofrequency skin-tightening treatment that received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance in August 2025. The practice, located at 805 Bradford Ave., started performing XERF treatments on July 29, 2026, and has completed 82 treatments to date.
XERF, manufactured by Cynosure Lutronic, delivers radiofrequency energy at two frequencies—6.78 MHz and 2 MHz—to heat tissue at multiple depths. The device pairs that energy with integrated cooling designed to keep treatment comfortable without numbing. XERF launched in South Korea in 2024 and reached Japan, Hong Kong and Canada before entering the U.S. market. The FDA clearance covers dermatologic and general surgical procedures for electrocoagulation and hemostasis. According to the manufacturer, skin tightening effects associated with XERF occur through soft tissue coagulation.
The Nashville launch comes as patients nationwide favor treatments focused on restoring what time has changed. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ 2025 Procedural Statistics Report found that cosmetic surgical procedures rose 7% over the prior year. The organization attributed that growth largely to patients addressing aging, weight loss and other life changes, rather than seeking a dramatic transformation. The same report found that neuromodulators and hyaluronic acid fillers together accounted for 80% of minimally invasive procedures.
“Patients have asked us for years about firming their skin without needles, surgery or time away from work and family,” said Katie Tsakeres, co-owner and nurse practitioner injector at Melrose Aesthetics. “The national numbers match what we see in our treatment rooms. People want to look like a rested version of themselves. With XERF, patients see an initial change that continues to build over about three months as their bodies produce new collagen, and that gradual timeline fits how most of our patients want to age.”
Melrose Aesthetics providers use XERF for mild to moderate skin laxity on the face and neck. That includes loss of firmness along the jawline, early jowling, crepey skin and fine lines. Each treatment begins with a consultation, where a nurse practitioner reviews the patient’s skin, medical history and goals to determine candidacy. The practice also reports that early patient feedback has centered on comfort during treatment and the ability to return to normal activities the same day.
“The response from our first XERF patients has been remarkably consistent,” said Lindsey Felts, co-owner and nurse practitioner injector at Melrose Aesthetics. “They tell us the treatment felt far more comfortable than they expected, and they went straight back to their day. We also see XERF working alongside treatments patients already know, like neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport, facial volume filler and biostimulators such as Sculptra, as one part of a longer-term plan for anti-aging and skin health.”
XERF joins a treatment menu at Melrose Aesthetics that includes neuromodulators, dermal fillers, collagen-stimulating injectables, laser treatments and medical-grade facials. Patients can review candidacy, treatment areas and what to expect on the practice’s XERF treatment page. For a broader view of the practice’s offerings, the Melrose Aesthetics website provides details, and additional announcements are available through the practice’s media room.
The introduction of XERF matters for Texas businesses and consumers because it reflects a broader shift in the aesthetics industry toward nonsurgical, restorative treatments that minimize downtime and fit into busy lifestyles. As a medical aesthetics practice in Nashville, Melrose Aesthetics is responding to the same consumer preferences that are likely to influence demand across the country, including in Texas. The practice’s experience—82 treatments in a matter of months—suggests that patients are eager for options that offer gradual improvement without the recovery associated with surgery. For Texas entrepreneurs and investors in the medical aesthetics space, the XERF launch underscores the importance of adopting FDA-cleared technologies that align with the growing preference for preventative and restorative care. As the industry continues to evolve, offerings like XERF may become a standard part of the aesthetic menu, driving economic activity through new device purchases, training and service offerings.
