EVDANCE Expands Portable EV Charger Lineup with More Plug Options for Texas Drivers

EVDANCE has expanded its portable electric vehicle charger lineup with more plug options across 16A, 24A, 32A, and 40A configurations, giving drivers more flexibility when charging conditions change between home, work, travel, and outdoor locations. The move addresses a common challenge for EV owners: ensuring that the available electrical connection matches the charger they have on hand.

For many EV owners, the challenge with portable charging is not simply how much power a charger can deliver. It is whether the available electrical connection matches the charger they brought with them. A 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet can support Level 2 charging, but a garage, campsite, rental property, or roadside destination may instead provide only a standard 120V NEMA 5-15 receptacle. North American homes and properties also use a range of other NEMA configurations. EVDANCE’s latest platform expansion addresses that variation by giving drivers a broader selection of portable EV chargers and plug configurations rather than treating one outlet type as a universal solution.

The expanded lineup spans several electrical configurations. The 16A models are available with NEMA 5-15 or NEMA 6-20 options, while 24A models support NEMA 5-15 alongside NEMA 10-30 or NEMA 14-30 configurations. The 32A platform uses NEMA 14-50, while the 40A lineup adds NEMA 5-15 compatibility alongside NEMA 14-50. The addition of NEMA 5-15 to higher-amperage 24A and 40A configurations is particularly significant for portable charging. A driver using an appropriately configured 240V connection can access Level 2 charging, while the same charger platform can be used with a standard 120V receptacle for Level 1 charging when that is the only available option. The charger does not increase the capacity of the circuit; charging current remains limited by the receptacle, circuit, and specific charger configuration.

The lineup is also available with both NACS and J1772 vehicle connectors, extending compatibility across major EV charging ecosystems. For Tesla drivers, EVDANCE’s NACS versions retain the push-button charge-port release function familiar from Tesla charging equipment. The connector housing is also designed around a familiar Tesla-style form factor and handling experience, rather than treating NACS compatibility as a simple connector conversion.

Independent third-party field validation has demonstrated the platform’s real-world flexibility. LifeWithaBox used an EVDANCE 40A, 240V portable charger for more than a month with a Tesla, testing the unit in below-freezing, snowy conditions and highlighting its 25-foot cable, 2.4-inch display, carrying case, and app-based controls. The review also compared the EVDANCE charger with Tesla’s OEM equipment, with the creator stating that the EVDANCE unit “might be better than Tesla’s OEM charger” based on its combination of portability, monitoring features, and charging controls.

Through its expanded platform, EVDANCE is positioning portable charging around a practical principle: drivers cannot always control which outlet is available, but they can choose equipment designed for more of the charging conditions they are likely to encounter.
