Bennett McNamara Joins J. Price McNamara: Disability, Life, AD&D Insurance Attorneys, Expanding Texas Federal Court Reach

J. Price McNamara: Disability, Life, AD&D Insurance Attorneys announced that Bennett McNamara has joined the firm as an attorney, bringing a second generation of the McNamara family into its practice representing people fighting insurance companies over denied benefits.

Bennett McNamara joined the firm after beginning his legal career in insurance defense. He earned his J.D. and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law, magna cum laude, from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2023 and is licensed to practice in Louisiana, with additional admissions in federal courts throughout Texas. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Shelly Dick at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana for two years, where he gained insight into numerous types of federal litigation, including several ERISA-related matters.

J. Price McNamara said the timing of his son’s arrival addressed a pressing capacity issue. “The timing couldn’t have been better. I was turning away people needing our services to assure that current clients got the time and attention their cases deserved. Having Bennett join our mission and hit the ground running after clerking for a federal judge has been a godsend,” he said.

Bennett McNamara said he was drawn to the firm’s mission. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside my father doing the impactful work that he’s become so passionate about. The people we represent are facing complicated obstacles during difficult times in their lives, and it’s energizing to be working for such a worthy cause,” he said.

The firm, also known as J. Price McNamara: Disability, Life, AD&D Insurance Attorneys, represents clients in ERISA claims, long-term disability insurance disputes and life and AD&D insurance denials. It has offices in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas, and represents clients throughout the Gulf South and, through its ERISA practice, across the country.

For Texas businesses and workers, Bennett McNamara’s admissions in federal courts throughout Texas are significant. ERISA cases are heard in federal court, and denied disability or life insurance claims often involve complex federal procedures. Having an attorney with federal clerkship experience and Texas admissions means Texas clients may benefit from local federal court knowledge and a fresh perspective on ERISA litigation. The firm’s Houston office already serves Texas clients, and the addition of Bennett McNamara strengthens its ability to handle cases in Texas federal courts. His background in insurance defense also gives him insight into how insurers evaluate and defend claims, which can be valuable when representing claimants.

The firm’s founding attorney, J. Price McNamara, has built a practice focused on representing individuals against insurance companies. The arrival of Bennett McNamara ensures continuity of that mission and adds capacity to take on more cases, potentially benefiting more Texas residents who face denied benefits. The firm’s offices can be located via J. Price McNamara: Disability, Life, AD&D Insurance Attorneys.
