The Western Sports Foundation has announced the inaugural Western Social, a reimagined fundraising event that merges the vibrant spirit of the western lifestyle with an unforgettable evening of community, entertainment and purpose. Scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the John Wayne: An American Experience in the Fort Worth Stockyards, this event aims to deepen connections between guests and the mission of supporting rodeo athletes.

Replacing WSF's traditional gala, the Western Social offers a fresh, engaging format designed to connect guests more deeply with the mission of supporting rodeo athletes. Attendees can expect an atmosphere inspired by the Western charm of a modern fair, complete with midway-style activations, interactive giving stations, robust food stations, and unique opportunities to connect with partners, athletes, and the western community.

Mai-Brit Harvey, Interim Executive Director of Western Sports Foundation, stated that this event represents the next chapter for WSF. The Western Social blends fun and philanthropy, while giving the community a chance to see the real impact their generosity has on rodeo athletes and their families.

Event highlights include interactive giving stations with fair-inspired games, a silent auction featuring exclusive western fashion, art, exclusive experiences and one-of-a-kind items. Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress showcasing their favorite outfits exhibiting Western Flair. Guests will be able to capture memories and iconic style moments at the Boot Barn Photo Booth.

Tickets are available now at https://www.westernsportsfoundation.org/western-social. Funds raised through the Western Social will directly benefit rodeo athletes through WSF's core service areas: financial assistance following injury, mental health and neurological support, and educational/career development programs.

This initiative holds significant implications for Texas's western sports industry by addressing critical needs of rodeo athletes who contribute substantially to the state's cultural and economic landscape. The event's innovative approach to fundraising could set a new standard for philanthropic events within the western lifestyle sector, potentially influencing how organizations engage donors and support athletic communities. The focus on mental health and career development programs represents a forward-thinking investment in the long-term wellbeing of athletes beyond their competitive careers.
